Free AI Visibility Checker: Is Your Site Ready for AI?
Before AI can mention you, it has to reach you. This free AI visibility checker scores any domain on the five foundations AI agents need first: robots.txt validity, AI-crawler access, content signals, sitemap, markdown negotiation. Scored exactly the way our full 28-check Agent Readiness scan scores them. Server-side, no sign-up.
Straight answer
What this score measures, and what it doesn't.
It measures infrastructure, not visibility.Whether AI agents can reach, crawl, and parse your site. Fail these and you can be invisible to AI by accident, but passing them is the floor, not a guarantee of citations. Anyone selling a "readiness score" as a ranking shortcut is overstating it.
It's an honest partial. 5 of our 28 checks. We show you exactly which 5, score them the same way the full scan does, and never dress the number up as the complete picture.
It's the plumbing. Get these foundations right first; they gate the other 23 checks (rendering, structured data, MCP, commerce, visual) that the full Agent Readiness scan covers.
From a domain to a readiness score in three steps
- 01Give
A domain or URL
Enter any site. We fetch its robots.txt and sitemap server-side, so it works even on sites that block browser requests.
- 02Score
5 foundational checks
robots.txt validity, AI-crawler access, content signals, sitemap, markdown negotiation. A fixed subset of our 28-check Agent Readiness rubric.
- 03Fix
A score + what's holding you back
A clear number, a per-check breakdown with the evidence, and a path to the other 23 checks in the full scan.

FAQ
AI-readiness, answered honestly
- 01Is this an AI visibility checker or a readiness score? Both, honestly labeled. AI visibility has two layers: whether AI systems can read you, and whether they mention you. This free tool checks and scores the first layer, the infrastructure. Measuring the second layer (mentions, citations, competitors across 8 AI engines) is what the paid AI Visibility Tracker does. If the plumbing fails here, no tracking result will flatter you.
- 02Why only 5 of the 28 checks?Because these five are what we can verify honestly from a single public request, and they're the foundations that gate the rest. The other 23, rendering as a headless agent, live-fetching as 34 crawlers, structured data, MCP, commerce feeds, visual layout, run in the full Agent Readiness scan, which is also free.
- 03My score is high. Why am I still not showing up in AI answers?Because infrastructure is table stakes. Once agents can reach you, whether they cite you comes down to content and authority, the same fight as classic SEO moved to a new surface. The score's job is to rule out the self-inflicted failure so you know the rest is a content problem, not a plumbing one.
- 04Does a high score mean AI will cite me?No, and we won't dress it up. Nothing a robots file or sitemap controls can earn a citation. What a bad score can do is silently cost you every citation you would otherwise have earned. That asymmetry is why this check comes first.
- 05What are the 5 free checks?robots.txt valid format, AI bot discoverability (whether your robots.txt blocks AI crawlers), Content-Signal directive, sitemap present + valid XML, and markdown content negotiation. They're a fixed subset of the 28 checks our full Agent Readiness scan runs, chosen because they're the foundational ones we can verify safely and instantly from a single URL.
- 06How is the score calculated?Your headline score is the three core foundations, robots.txt validity, AI-crawler access, and a valid sitemap (30 points). Each is scored exactly the way the full Agent Readiness scan scores it, so your free result is a genuine partial, not a different number. Two further checks, the Content-Signal directive and markdown content negotiation, are shown separately as emerging signals: almost no site implements them yet, so we don't let them drag your score down, but adopting them is cheap future-proofing. We show the points and evidence for every check, core and emerging, so nothing is a black box.
- 07Is it free?Yes. Single-domain scores are free with no sign-up, and there's no LLM or paid API behind a check, so nothing is metered.
5 checks is the foundation. The full scan runs all 28.
Agent Readiness live-fetches your site as 34 AI crawlers, renders it like a headless agent, and adds structured data, MCP, commerce and visual checks. Free.
